Summer is a great time to take on new adventures. Spice up your fitness routine by taking it outdoors. Below are some ideas to help you get started:
- Relive your youth by walking to your neighborhood park. Pump your legs as you feel the cool breeze on the swings or test your strength with pull ups at the monkey bars.
- Rent a kayak if you live near a lake, river, or the ocean. You can burn up to 500 calories an hour!
- Challenge your friends to a tennis match or even badminton! Learning to play a new sport is great exercise for your mind and body.
- Join a bicycle riding group. Riding clubs have become especially popular in the last year. Joining a group will give you the motivation and encouragement of others in a fun environment.
- Find a hidden trail to hike. Enjoy your natural surroundings as you look for beautiful flowers, birds and wildlife.

To prevent dehydration, remember to bring your bottle of Kangen Water®. The heat can drain your reserves quickly and your body will need extra water to function properly. Aim to drink 8-10 ounces of water every 20 minutes when working out in the summer sun. Even minor dehydration can lead to muscle cramps, fatigue and headaches.
This may also be a great opportunity to share your secret of healthy water with your exercise partners. Bring along an extra bottle of Kangen Water® just for them!
Whichever exercise methods you choose, get out there this summer, stay healthy in the sun and get fit.
