Flood Our World: How You Can Make a Difference

Americans are blessed every day with the accessibility of drinkable water. Kangen Water® customers and distributors are especially fortunate to have the choice and opportunity to purchase Enagic® water filtration machines, which provide healthy, clean, alkaline water that is good for overall wellness.

Contaminated drinking water

Contaminated water

Enagic® is a compassionate company, with a heart for those who do not have this luxury. There are almost one billion people in this world who do not have access to clean, safe drinking water and sanitation. Contaminated drinking water and lack of sanitation accounts for 80% of all diseases, and takes more lives than all forms of violence1. As a company who has built our heritage on providing healthy water for our international community, this is deeply troubling.

Thankfully, we do not have to sit back and watch the world suffer. Each of us can do something, and together our efforts can be a powerful humanitarian force.

We encourage you to stop and think about how you can have an impact on this devastation. You’re already doing your part to share healthy water with your own community. But maybe we could each reach out and touch the lives of people in developing countries, who don’t have access to Kangen Water® – or any clean water for that matter!

Celebrate the New Year with Kangen Water®

Stay hydrated at your New Year’s party!

Stay hydrated at your New Year’s party!

The New Year should bring fresh perspectives, new resolutions, and a clean slate. But if you don’t make smart decisions at that New Year’s Eve party, your “clean slate” just might begin with a severe hangover. Luckily, you can make healthy choices that will help ward off uncomfortable hangovers, and still enjoy all the merriment of holiday parties.

A hangover is mostly caused by dehydration, so here are some useful tips that can help you stay hydrated at your New Year’s party:

1. Don’t drink alcohol. It really is that easy! Alcohol is a diuretic, which means it makes you produce more urine than usual and can lead to dehydration1. Alcohol also lowers your blood sugar, expands your blood vessels, and irritates your stomach lining1. Instead, bring an attractive reusable water bottle filled with Kangen Water® to the New Year’s party, and dance the night away while staying healthy and hydrated. You can even bring a few extra bottles of Kangen Water® for fellow smart party companions.

2. If you must drink alcohol, don’t drink on an empty stomach. Filling up on food first will help slow down your body’s absorption of alcohol2. Eat carbs to help ease nausea, and drink plenty of Kangen Water® before the party starts.

3. Alternate every other drink with Kangen Water® to avoid dehydration. This tactic will also help you consume less alcohol by the time the party winds down.

4. Try to stay away from dark liquors at all costs. Dark colored alcoholic beverages such as brandy, whiskey, and dark-colored beers have the highest amount of congenors, which are the compounds that contribute to hangovers1.

5. Before falling asleep, drink plenty of Kangen Water® and take a Vitamin C supplement3. If you experience nausea, vomiting, or indigestion, make sure to replace your fluids with clean, healthy water to avoid dehydration.

Happy Holidays from Enagic®!

Happy Holidays from Enagic®!

If you are unfortunate enough to wake up with a hangover, DON’T drink more alcohol! Instead, drink lots of alkaline Kangen Water®, eat a bland snack to settle your stomach (a), take an over-the-counter pain reliever, and hit the sack again2. A little sleep may be just what your body needs to fight hangover symptoms.

This New Year’s Eve, remember to stay smart and hydrated with Kangen Water®, a delicious alkaline water that can help keep your delicate inner pH levels balanced. And if you do decide to drink alcohol, please do so responsibly and don’t drink and drive.

From all of us at Enagic®, Happy Holidays and enjoy a very healthy, safe, and Happy New Year!

Winter Plant Care

Watering your plants with Kangen Water

Watering your plants with Kangen Water®

Watering your plants with Kangen Water® is a great way to keep them healthy, enlivened, and lush. Just like your body needs clean, alkaline, and chlorine-free Kangen Water® for health, your plants also need the healthiest water possible for optimal nourishment. Kangen Water® can even revitalize weak plants, making them stronger and more vibrant than ever before!

Taking care of your plants in the winter can be a little tricky, especially if you live in an extremely cold climate. Here are a few pointers to help you maintain healthy plants all winter long:

1. Water your plants only when the temperature is above 40 degrees, with no snow cover.

2. Water your plants with Kangen Water® in the middle of the day, so they have time to absorb all the nutrients before the harsh winter night.

3. Plants in windy climates require additional watering, as the wind can dry out the earth and plants quickly.

4. Use Kangen Water® to nourish your trees, shrubs, and perennial plants during dry winter spells to prevent permanent root damage. This root damage can injure the entire plant if ignored.

5. Newly planted trees, shrubs, and plants will need additional watering, as they are particularly injured by dry winter seasons.

6. You can brush away snow, but not ice from your plants! Scraping ice from frozen plants will actually cause more damage than leaving the ice alone.

7. Mulch your plants for winter, and water the mulch during warm, dry periods of the winter season.

You can keep your plants strong and healthy with Kangen Water®, even in dry winter climates! Do your vegetation a favor, and give them the boost that could only come from Kangen Water®.

Hydrate For the Holidays

If you’ve stepped foot into a shopping mall recently, listened to the lingering tunes in the grocery store, or scanned the local radio stations, you have undoubtedly realized one thing: the holidays are upon us! Seasonal music is already playing a loop in your head, and Santa has most likely started making appearances for every child’s annual photo shoot.
Amidst all the hustle and bustle of this holiday season, you will have to make choices every day for your health and hydration. What will you choose to hydrate and nourish your body with this season? You’ve been committed to consuming plenty of healthy Kangen Water® all year long; can you sustain it over the holidays?

Let’s look at the typical nutrition facts of some popular holiday beverages you’ll come across at office parties, coffeehouses, and family gatherings:

1. Eggnog (1 cup): 350 calories, 34.4g carbs, 19g fat
2. Eggnog Latte (16 oz): 352 calories, 44g carbs, 11g fat
3. Hot Buttered Rum: 418 calories, 35g carbs, 17g fat
4. Hot Chocolate (16 oz): 360 calories, 50g carbs, 16g fat
5. Peppermint Mocha (16 oz): 470 calories, 61g carbs, 22g fat

These holiday drinks may be tempting (and even delicious), but you will have to decide if they are worth the calories. You can cut them out all together this year, or try a healthier version if you can’t bear to let the holidays pass without them. For instance, order your coffee drinks with skim milk, no whipped cream, and half the pumps of syrup they usually add to your favorite drink. For a healthier version of hot chocolate, switch to instant hot cocoa made with delicious Kangen Water®! If it’s been awhile since you’ve tried instant hot cocoa, you’ll be amazed at the premium quality of some products available now. Our favorites are Godiva Hot Cocoa and Cacao Reserve by Hershey’s.

Kangen WaterIf you’re committed to making only the best decisions for your health this holiday season, stick with Kangen Water® and leave the fatty, high-calorie drinks behind. Kangen Water® has 0 calories, 0 carbs, and 0g of fat. This delicious, alkaline water is healthy for your body inside and out, and friendly to your Christmas wardrobe waistline!

When you want to stay healthy and hydrated this holiday season, choose Kangen Water® to leave you feeling refreshed and revitalized all winter long!

Winter Dehydration

You were diligent about staying hydrated over the summer, in excessive heat and strenuous activity. But did you know that it is equally important to stay properly hydrated during the winter months too? Many people neglect to drink the recommended 2 to 3 liters of water a day when it’s not scorching hot outside, but the truth is that the cold weather brings new concerns for dehydration.

Here are some of the hidden causes of winter dehydration:

Increased water loss in cold weather

1. Increased water loss in cold weather1. If you play winter sports, beware that you will lose more water than you realize under all your layers of clothes. Your body increases urinary fluid loss and respiratory water loss in cold, humidifying air1. Winter athletes should be especially careful to replace fluid loss with plenty of clean, healthy drinking water.

2. Your body is working harder – even when you’re inactive. As the weather gets colder, your body has to compensate by intensely working to maintain an internal temperature of 98.6 degrees. You need to energize your body by drinking plenty of water. Hydrating in the cold weather will actually give your body a boost and help you stay warmer2.

3. Internal heating systems. When the temperature plummets outside, most people crank up the heat inside. Unfortunately, internal heating systems use dry heat, which can quickly cause water loss in your lungs and skin2. Dry skin is easy to identify, but internal water loss is harder to spot and can often go unnoticed. Don’t wait until you feel thirsty; hydrate all day long to prevent winter dehydration!

So remember that even when the sun isn’t blazing down on you, you should still make proper hydration a priority this winter season. Skip the caffeine, alcohol, and sugary soft drinks and hydrate with clean water every day.

Kangen Water® is the only water we recommend for a healthy body and sufficient hydration. Kangen Water® is clean, delicious alkaline water that is conveniently available in your own kitchen! Just fill a reusable container with Kangen Water® before you leave the house, and you can stay healthy and hydrated all day long.
