Enagic® Water for Your Garden

Plants have different preferences in pH

How Does Your Garden Grow?

In our previous blog, we discussed how to grow your plants and garden with Kangen Water® even in the cold of winter. There were some questions about which Enagic® Water is best for your garden, and we’ve done some research to answer your concerns.

It turns out, different plants have different preferences in pH for water and soil, and the water you use will have a big impact on your plant health and growth1. Also, the pH of your soil will affect which water you should use, as soil pH can range widely. Here is a general list of the plants that thrive in slightly alkaline, neutral, and slightly acidic water and soil:

Plants that Prefer Slightly Alkaline Kangen Water® (pH 8.5 – 9.5)
Asparagus, beets, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, carrots, mushrooms, parsley, geraniums, irises, hydrangeas (for pink blooms), and lilacs. Hydrangeas are a rare plant, as the pH of your water will change the color of the blooms.

Plants that Prefer Slightly Acidic Water (pH 4.0 – 6.0)
Rhododendrons, begonias, azaleas, heathers, hydrangeas (for blue blooms), peanuts, cucumbers, potatoes, chili peppers, eggplant, garlic, chives, artichoke, tomatoes, and most berries. Roses grow most vibrantly with pH 5.5 – 6.5, so you may want to experiment with Slightly Acidic Water 6.0 and Neutral Water to see which one yields the healthiest roses with your particular soil.

Plants that Prefer Neutral Water (pH 7.0)
Spinach, parsnips, dahlias, chrysanthemums, brussels sprouts, sweet peas, broccoli, asparagus, cantaloupe, kiwi, mint, lettuce, onions, bell peppers, and tulips.

No matter which Enagic® Water you choose for your garden, you can have peace of mind that your plants will be healthy with clean, high-quality water. And think of how delicious your fruits and vegetables will taste after they’ve been watered with your Enagic® water ionizing machine, instead of chlorinated tap water.

Green Your Dishwashing Machine

Green Your Dishwashing Machine

As we have already reported, using a dishwasher to clean your dishes is more eco-friendly than washing by hand. But so many Enagic®members don’t enjoy using synthetic chemicals to get their favorite dishes and flatware clean.

Thankfully, you can don’t have to resort to harsh, unnatural ingredients to get your dishes sparkling clean. Using some basic items in your pantry, you can make your own Homemade Dishwasher Detergent:

Homemade Dishwasher Detergent
1 cup washing soda
1 cup Borax (ONLY if you have well water)
2 Tablespoons sea salt

Thoroughly mix together and keep in an air-tight container. Add 1 to 2 Tablespoon of the mixture to each load. If your dishes are cloudy, add a little vinegar or a small drop of Strong Kangen Water Dish Soap to the rinse cycle to reduce cloudiness.

…Or wash with Strong Kangen Water
If you don’t own an Energy Star dishwasher, or just prefer to wash your dishes the old fashioned way, Strong Kangen Water can help! Strong Kangen Water is a powerful cleaner, with extra strength absorption qualities to help fight tough grease and grime from your dishes.

Strong Kangen Water can help you save on your water bill. It takes a quarter of the usual amount of water to rinse off Strong Kangen Water, as opposed to chemical detergents. This is a wonderful environmentally-friendly and healthy decision, as both the Earth and your body will thank you for reducing the amount of chemicals in your home!

Keep your dishes clean the green way, and let your mulit-purpose Enagic® water ionizing machine help make your home chemical-free!

Make Your Kangen Water® a “Trenta”

What are you drinking? The Tremendous Trenta
If you have been following the news buzz the last few days, you probably heard that due to overwhelming customer feedback, Starbucks will be introducing a new fourth size – the “Trenta.” This 31-ounce giant will be specifically for their iced coffees, iced teas, and iced tea lemonades. According to the National Post 1, the Trenta is actually bigger than your stomach! While most of us have a 900 ml capacity in our stomachs, the Trenta is a whopping 916 ml! This super-collosal beverage has the equivalent caffeine of 4 cups of coffee. Imagine over-flowing your stomach with the caffeine and sugar found in most of these iced drinks!

Make It Kangen Water®
At Enagic®, we encourage every person to consume the healthy recommended 1.5 to 2 liters of water a day. So if you fill a “Trenta” with Kangen Water®, you’re almost there! Although we suggest you choose a reusable 1 liter Enagic® water bottle instead2. No matter which container you use, there is no denying that clean, alkaline Kangen Water® is a better choice for optimal hydration than any caffeinated or sugary beverage!

Don’t get sucked into the hype of the same unhealthy beverage in a larger package. Remember that your Kangen Water® can help you sustain a healthy body with its powerful anti-oxidants and alkalinity that will help keep your body’s pH level balanced. There is no substitute for the always refreshing and healthy Kangen Water®.

Hydrate For the Holidays

If you’ve stepped foot into a shopping mall recently, listened to the lingering tunes in the grocery store, or scanned the local radio stations, you have undoubtedly realized one thing: the holidays are upon us! Seasonal music is already playing a loop in your head, and Santa has most likely started making appearances for every child’s annual photo shoot.
Amidst all the hustle and bustle of this holiday season, you will have to make choices every day for your health and hydration. What will you choose to hydrate and nourish your body with this season? You’ve been committed to consuming plenty of healthy Kangen Water® all year long; can you sustain it over the holidays?

Let’s look at the typical nutrition facts of some popular holiday beverages you’ll come across at office parties, coffeehouses, and family gatherings:

1. Eggnog (1 cup): 350 calories, 34.4g carbs, 19g fat
2. Eggnog Latte (16 oz): 352 calories, 44g carbs, 11g fat
3. Hot Buttered Rum: 418 calories, 35g carbs, 17g fat
4. Hot Chocolate (16 oz): 360 calories, 50g carbs, 16g fat
5. Peppermint Mocha (16 oz): 470 calories, 61g carbs, 22g fat

These holiday drinks may be tempting (and even delicious), but you will have to decide if they are worth the calories. For instance, order your coffee drinks with skim milk, no whipped cream, and half the pumps of syrup they usually add to your favorite drink. For a healthier version of hot chocolate, switch to instant hot cocoa made with delicious Kangen Water®! If it’s been awhile since you’ve tried instant hot cocoa, you’ll be amazed at the premium quality of some products available now. Our favorites are Godiva Hot Cocoa and Cacao Reserve by Hershey’s.

Kangen WaterIf you’re committed to making only the best decisions for your health this holiday season, stick with Kangen Water® and leave the fatty, high-calorie drinks behind. Why Antioxidize?

It seems like everyone has been talking about antioxidants lately. Many healthy foods, skincare products, vitamin supplements, and even sunscreens claim to contain anti-aging antioxidants. But what are antioxidants, and how do they help your body?

Antioxidants are important because they can neutralize free radicals1 and stop the harmful damage to your body caused by these renegade cells. Free radicals can be triggered by environmental factors such as sun exposure, pollution, cigarette smoke, etc1. They are highly reactive and leave a path of damaged cells and even more free radicals in your body2. The damaged cells can create many health problems, including premature skin aging and even cancer3. You need antioxidants to fight free radical damage!

Some Antioxidants Are Stronger Than Others

While antioxidants may sound like a simple solution, keep in mind that not all antioxidants are created equal. Some antioxidants are more powerful than others, and their strength can be measured by the Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP). Check out this video to see the ORP properties of popular beverages.

As you can see, clean Kangen Water® has amazing ORP properties. Imagine ONE delicious beverage that can hydrate you AND help you acquire the natural antioxidants you need to stay healthy!

Along with a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables, Kangen Water® is an excellent addition to your antioxidizing routine.

You can help keep your body healthy from the inside out by hydrating with clean, alkaline Kangen Water® every day!
